2007-2008 Equipment Report
Mark Duchesne reports that Alliance Machine Systems International continues on its focused path as the premiere supplier of productivity enhancing material handling systems and specialty folder gluers. 2007 was a year of growth in shipment volume as more box plants around the globe, pressured by competitive conditions and focused on improved production efficiency, have chosen Alliance as their supplier-partner. “We have enjoyed working closely with our customers in 2007 to bring superior value-added products and demonstrable productivity gains to their operations. We thank our global customers for the opportunity to work with them and to incorporate their feedback into our sizable R&D efforts.
Looking ahead to 2008 and beyond, our customers will continue to seek productivity gains. In the past, box manufacturers may have pursued enhanced profitability by expanding a plant or building a new plant; today they are asking how they can get more out of their existing assets. This quickly boils down to productivity per machine center. That’s when they call us.
Our response has been to:
- Expand the ALF MAX robotic palletizing system product line to improve speed and productivity. In 2008, this will include keeping up with the latest generation of high speed FFGs.
- Refine our large array of pre-feeding systems which is unsurpassed in quality, reliability and performance. In 2008 look for us to roll out next generation upgrades designed to enhance production speeds and minimize operator interaction
- Prove our stacking solutions stand alone when it comes to flexibility, speed and productivity. It is truly amazing how many MSF can run thru our machines when applied properly.
More and more people are shrugging off the turnkey line mentality and coming to Alliance to outfit their finishing machines (FFGs, FBDCs & RDCs) with superior peripheral material handling equipment. Those in the know recognize the material handling equipment dictates the ultimate productivity potential on a given finishing line. Smooth and efficient material flow from incoming stack to outgoing pallet is the key to maximizing productivity. Our focus has always been to make the best peripheral equipment in the industry allowing the customer to select any finishing machine with the confidence that our material handling systems we will make it more productive.
In 2007 Alliance continued to be the market leader in the Specialty Folder Gluer arena with both the J&L and Tanabe brand gluers. In the Western Hemisphere, where larger format machines are the norm, the J&L remains the system of choice. If you are looking for a specialty folder gluer in 2008, take a close look at the J&L. Come to our factory for a demonstration and you won’t be disappointed with the domestic market leader.
In Europe, where smaller format machines are the main stream, Tanabe brings exceptional value. Its balance of price and performance fit perfectly with the market requirements and the Tanabe twin feeding technology has been widely accepted for the rapidly emerging shelf-ready packaging applications.
With our geographically distributed service team in your backyard, Alliance Machine Systems International and Alliance Machine Systems Europe are dedicated to our customers’ success. 2007 was another year in our long record of positive progress. We wish all our customers and colleagues in the industry a highly productive and prosperous 2008.”
